MAKKAH: Saudi Arabia’s health system, in collaboration with the National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO) and other relevant authorities, is mobilizing advanced technologies and resources to ensure the continuous delivery of medical supplies to more than 136 fixed and mobile healthcare facilities across the holy sites during the 1446 AH Hajj season.
According to official reports, over 800 logistics trips have been carried out, covering around 2,000 types of medical items and totaling approximately 90 million units of medicines and supplies.
To improve responsiveness in the field, NUPCO, an entity under the Public Investment Fund, has deployed a fleet of 62 transport trucks, operated by a team of 184 specialized staff.
The company has also introduced initiatives to strengthen supply chain efficiency, including the use of drones and helicopters equipped with designated landing pads for delivering urgent medical supplies to high-traffic areas.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that these efforts reflect the integrated approach of the Kingdom’s healthcare system, aimed at providing consistent, high-quality medical and logistical services throughout the Hajj season.
